What is CrossFit?

There’s no better way to explain the concept of CrossFit than a quick video or two….

Excited yet? You should be!

As mentioned in the video, according to CrossFit.com:

The CrossFit prescription is “constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement.” No aspect of functional movements is more important than their capacity to move large loads over long distances, and to do so quickly.

The program’s goal is to improve your competence in the 10 general physical skills of fitness –

  1. Cardiovascular Endurance
  2. Stamina
  3. Strength
  4. Flexibility
  5. Power
  6. Speed
  7. Coordination
  8. Agility
  9. Balance
  10. Accuracy

Focusing on your improvement across all of these areas creates a well-rounded athlete who is prepared for any physical challenges thrown your way.

So how do we achieve this?

The simple answer is: with variety. CrossFit is always different, no two classes are ever the same and the variety of workouts creates a broad level of fitness unlike any other activity we have seen.

We incorporate a mix of weight lifting (Squats, Deadlifts, Presses, Clean & Jerk, Snatch) along with Gymnastics (Pull-ups, Rings, Body weight activities) and high intensity cardio (run, row, skip), along with any other interesting activities we can think of.

The wordy explanation killing your buzz? Well here’s another inspiring video to get you excited about the sport that we already love and are pretty sure that you will too.
